Bidding On the Rearclick Affiliate Network
To increase the amount of traffic you receive from your Rearclick campaign, bid for placement across the Rearclick Affiliate Network.
The majority of searches that come from Rearclick are driven by our Affiliate Network (other search engines, portals and websites). These affiliates combine our Rearclick results (your listing) with search results that they get from other providers. These results are usually ordered based on the bid amounts. Even though you may be at the number 1 position on Rearclick, your site may be in a lower position on the search results pages of our affiliates.
EXAMPLE: Notice that the second row with a bid of $0.03 is at position 2 on Rearclick, but not in the top 5 positions on the Rearclick Affiliate Network. The Smart Bid on the Affiliate Network is $0.12, which means that to be in position 1 on the Affiliate Network the bid needs to be at least $0.13.
The 2nd row from the bottom with a bid of $0.03 is at position 1 on Rearclick. However, its average weighted position on the Affiliate Network is around 3. To get into position 1 on the Affiliate Network the bid needs to be $0.04 or one cent above the Affiliate Network's Smart Bid).
Note that the "Searches" column under the Rearclick and Affiliate Network sections show the approximate number of searches received for the previous month. For the 2nd row from the bottom, the amount of searches that returned the listing in the top position on Rearclick is 15, while the number of searches that returned the listing in the 3rd position across the whole Affiliate Network is 14,793. Clearly, if you are interested in getting the benefit of the 1 position (which gets at least three times as many clicks as position 2), you could increase the bid to $0.04 (one cent above the Smart Bid on the Affiliate Network).
Note: The keyword rows that do not contain any values in the Average Position and the Smart Bid columns of the Affiliate Network sections mean that Rearclick does not have enough historical data for these keywords.
